Playing the Piano for a 70th Anniversary Party

Yes, you read that right — I played the piano for a 70th anniversary party! Can you believe it?

The piano was from the late 1800’s. I think the exact year was 1891.

A piano from the 1800’s!

Since this was obviously an older crowd than the ones I play for at weddings, I skipped the songs by Adele and Coldplay and instead played a lot of songs like “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” “Stardust,” and “Blue Moon.” I also played quite a few Vince Guaraldi “Charlie Brown songs,” which went over very well.

One of the guests was kind enough to take a few photos of me right before the party started.

After the party, I got to take home a few of these petit fours, which were a big hit at my house:

Petit Fours — both cute and yummy!
